Just days after she was part of the fastest all-woman team to row across the Atlantic, a Bradford woman has been talking about her epic journey.

In the small hours of Sunday morning Katie Pattinson-Hart, from Baildon, reached Barbados, 45 days after setting off from the Canary Islands.

More people have gone into space than have rowed the 2,613 nautical miles, and in making it to Port St Charles Marina at 00:13am AST (05:13am GMT), they became the first 5-woman team to row any ocean as well.

Speaking from the Caribbean, Katie told us it wasn't all plane sailing: "Our auto helm broke which meant we had to foot steer the whole way there. We also had water leaking into our hatches where all our food was stored so we had to throw a lot of our food away."

But she added, she's had the time of her life: "We've just laughed the whole way. Even when we've fallen over and people have injured themselves- it's either laugh or cry moments."

"We're friends for life and we're really looking forward to doing some other challenges together."

The team, comprising Katie, Julia Immonen, Debbie Beadle, Kate Richardson, and Helen Leigh, did it in a total crossing time of 45 days, 15 hours and 26 minutes.
